In the 1980s, Japanese designer Issey Miyake began experimenting with new methods of constructing garmenting and manipulating fabrics. The patented silk pleating technique synonymous with PLEATS PLEASE ISSEY MIYAKE brings a graphic impact to unique silhouettes. Some pieces are angular and sculptural, while others are draping and organic in shape. These simple black or vivid jewel tone-draped dresses, trousers, and coats are timeless and artistic.
